Expand your field of consciousness

eveil conscience

Expand your field of consciousness has become a necessity for me in exploring the current state of psychological research.

In reflecting on the current state of psychological research on consciousness, I have naturally been led to revisit my own inner experience.

We all constantly receive information through our five senses. Some of it reaches our consciousness, some of it does not. The theory ofglobal workspace Baars' theory proposes an interesting model: our perceptions circulate via a neural network to a sort of mental "central scene." Only information consistent with our memories or attention emerges into consciousness. However, this process remains imperfectly understood, particularly regarding what actually triggers conscious access.

Emotion plays a major role here. A sudden noise, intense fear, or deep sadness can abruptly refocus our attention. Emotions, as alarm signals, open breaches in our ordinary consciousness, although they can also invade and saturate the entire perceptual field.

From sensory awareness to intuitive awareness

Beyond sensory perception, another form of access to consciousness exists: intuition.
Scientific psychology, derived from medicine and influenced by the demand for experimental objectivity, still hesitates to explore this territory. Yet, intuition bursts into our field of consciousness without passing through the classic filters of the five senses or explicit memory.

Without a clearly identified biological substrate, intuition acts as a mysterious shortcut to inner knowing. It sometimes forces its way through the doors of our consciousness without warning, revealing hidden meaning or sudden insight.

Why expand your field of consciousness?

Learn to expand one's field of consciousness invites us to go beyond our automatisms and open up new spaces of meaning. But consciousness, as we practice it daily, is often restricted to our immediate interest alone:
Deciding on a trip, calculating a budget, organizing our daily lives.

But we rarely expand our awareness to the wider consequences of our actions:

  • Their impact on our loved ones,
  • Their social, ecological, economic resonance,
  • Their effect on the subtle balance of our environment.

Are there several levels of consciousness?

A holistic consciousness able to grasp the complexity of a situation beyond the ego and its self-centered reflexes?

This question directly touches on the notion of responsibilityIt suggests that an expansion of our field of consciousness would not only be possible, but necessary to evolve towards a more global, more spiritual intelligence.

Ego Wounds and the Paths of Evolution

Let's take an example: that of a conflictual divorce.
Some individuals, wounded in their ego, will seek revenge, sometimes at the cost of the suffering of innocent third parties.
Others, on the other hand, will use this ordeal to know themselves better, overcome their wounds, and grow in awareness.

Why such a difference?
Every human being carries within them the seeds of various forms of intelligence, including spiritual intelligence. But access to these resources seems to depend both on deep psychological factors (personality structure, degree of emotional integration) and more subtle factors, such as the ability to listen to one's inner self or the recognition of one's shadow sides.

Furthermore, certain mental disorders can alter this access, by distorting the perception of oneself and the world, by hindering dialogue with the soul.

Opening up new research territories

These questions open up vast areas of reflection, still largely unexplored by conventional psychology:

  • How can we encourage the emergence of an expanded consciousness?
  • What is the place of intuition in our decision-making processes?
  • Are there specific psychological obstacles to accessing spiritual awareness?

So many questions that we can continue to explore, to better understand this mysterious path that connects man to himself, to others, and to the entire universe.

Expand your field of consciousness, it is entering into a new quality of presence in the world: more open, more lucid, more responsible.
