“He who keeps silent and bows his head dies every day…”
Françoise Dencuff opens her book with this quote from Giovanni Falcone, an anti-mafia judge. And the tone is set: Towards Love Doctor is not a medical trial like any other. It is a cry from the heart, an act of conscience, an invitation to rethink what it really means to be healthy.
A free and experienced voice
A general practitioner trained in palliative care, Françoise has practiced in a variety of settings: private practice, hospitals, businesses, and elite sports. Her rich background gives her a strong sense of authority. But it's her openness and love of humanity that are most striking.
Now retired, she chooses to speak frankly about what she has observed for years: an increasingly technocratic healthcare system that forgets the essentials—connection, listening, presence.
And she does so with a rare lucidity mixed with hope.
A medicine of connection
In this work, she defends a global vision of health, faithful to the WHO definition: physical, psychological and spiritual well-being.
She reminds us that “taking care” goes far beyond “treating”: it means accompanying, listening, connecting, sometimes even… doing nothing, but being there.
She dares to speak of the sacred in care—not in the religious sense, but in the sense of that which cannot be defiled. And she asks this crucial question:
👉 Are we still able to heal without betraying the relationship?
A meeting to discover
I had the pleasure of recording a video interview with Françoise, which you can find below.
We address:
- The healthcare crisis revealed by the pandemic
- The Role of Discernment in an Information-Saturated World
- Individual responsibility for one's own health
- And above all... concrete ways to restore meaning to the care relationship

A profound exchange, without pretense, to listen to if you are looking for another path, more human, freer, more alive.
Where can I get the book?
Towards Love Doctor is available on the site bod.fr, in bookstores and on the usual platforms. It also exists in digital version.
And you ?
What does this vision of care inspire in you?
Do you also have the intuition that it is time to put back humans and living things at the heart of health?
